Hurricane Bill came and went overnight. Wave watchers, beachcombers and dog walkers stroll along the rejuvenated beaches. Some carry items lost (or tossed) by beach goers of past years. Styrofoam, plastic items, charred wood, lumber and even some large pieces looking suspiciously like bits of shipwrecks litter the base of the dunes at the high water line. Perhaps a doubloon or two will be found.Sturdy grasses have held their ground despite being submerged by waves overnight.
The Old Timers' Surf Contest has been cancelled today due to high surf. Tee shirts can be picked up at the White Crest parking lot at 4:30 today.
